What are these warnings about?

Every time I post a reply to your forum, I get this in a pink box at the top of the form:

user warning: Duplicate entry '9341' for key 'PRIMARY' query: INSERT INTO user_titles_posts (uid, posts) VALUES (9341, 1) in /var/www/html/sites/macintoshgarden.org/modules/user_titles/user_titles.module on line 307.

Then, when I post a new topic, I get this, also in a pink box:

warning: array_search() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /var/www/html/sites/macintoshgarden.org/modules/advanced_forum/advanced_forum.module on line 449.

Does anyone know why?

They're just bugs which don't really effect things. We've been upgrading to a new server for one thing and there's much to do. Everything gets fixed eventually. The main thing is, can you access all the games/apps that you need/want? That answer should always be yes. If not, you put out a request and the wonderful people here will be glad to assist. Smile

YADB? (Yet Another Drupal Bug) Drupal is the software used to generate these pages we use. Read up about it here, if curious.

These errors seem to be fairly innocuous, and your posts or edits do get through OK.

Its the amazonaws "NoSuchKey - The specified key does not exist." errors that really need URGENT addressing. These affect everyone who posts games or apps the Mac Garden to some degree. Four or five of my own uploads over the past month have not as yet become available for general download.

I'll fix those Drupal bugs eventually.

As for NoSuchKey errors, please upload elsewhere as well as to this site. Basically, the upload backend is broken and I need to fix it, but I'm quite busy to do this right now. Sorry! Sad

I'd like to be able to offer an alternative link just below the Garden's "Download" link in the same 'div' format. It must be possible because I've see some have managed to do this. See my effort, with recent HyperCard 2.1 upload, I've got the alternative link there but its not where I'd like to place it. Can it be done?

Your 'HyperCard Player v2.1 (magic edition)' alternative d/l link looks really great!

@IIGS_User: Thanks. Just using whats available here. But I'd still like to reposition it to directly beneath the official Garden download link. I've noticed that one other registered contributer has been able to do this and I'm wondering how it was done? - Can't point to an example of it right now either, should have noted the link at the time Sad

Found it: How was this done? - The 2nd "Download (alternative link)" in that position, placed directly under the official Mac Garden D/L?

That is what normally happens. What I wanna know is, how did it happen differently on your page? Is it because there are so many screenshots?

ADD: Ah, I see. You did it manually, typing in html in the description area. The way I usually do it is to use the box provided lower on the edit page. There's one that's "available for purchase" and another for external download.

Replying to myself here, again (worked it out for myself): "How was it done?"... Answer: If you upload a file using the "add game" link you get a choice: "Link to game instead?:" - You do not get this choice if uploading a file under the "add app" category Sad

Hmmm... Now if I uploaded an app under "add game" and classed it as a "utility"... hmmm... Balroggggg!!!!

Ah, that's right, the app and game pages are different. I'm glad you did that link the hard way though, it showed me another way to make links. For example, when I use the external link box, if there's a question mark in the address, the link doesn't work properly, it only goes to whatever is in the address prior to that character. So when I want to make a link to a shared folder on Mediafire, I have to put the link in the description area for it to work properly. Now I know a better looking way to do that!

I just prettified my link on the page for The Last Express.

I think you'll find this is only available if you choose the "add game" link when posting up a file to the Garden (at this point in time). Please prove me wrong. - I really want to be wrong about this Smile

BTW, MCP: Thanks for the heads up:

when I use the external link box, if there's a question mark in the address, the link doesn't work properly

Perhaps hard coding the alternative link is OK as is, it looks nice and it works. And here I was, wanting to do it "right".
