Swedish Mac Magazine

Mac Magazine was a short-lived Swedish magazine. I don't think it was around for even a year. I think I bought the last five or six issues and with them always came a CD-ROM.

Searcing out the attic I found one of the included CD-ROM:s and I've uploaded it to Megaupload in case someone is interested in it.

It contains mostly demos and shareware, some of it are rare Swedish applications. Also included is a complete edition of Bryce 2, but I guess you can find that elsewhere too.

I will search my parents house soon to see if the rest of them are still there.

Maybe we should have a section specially dedicated to magazine CD-ROM:s? There seems to be plenty of them.

EDIT: See new links below.

Yep, if it comes to that I think I´ve got a couple of 'MacPressens' CDs too. Think I even got a couple of diskettes. In all it could be interesting supply the different language version of Mac OS, games and common program titles. Cool

That would be awesome! Most of the System software in different languages are now available with the Anthology DVD:s, although they don't contain full installation disc images.

I just ripped Swedish Macworld CD 1/98 also, I'm going to upload it this evening too.

EDIT: New download-links below, with unaltered CD-images.

So, I've been lurking around looking for my last few CD-ROM:s and I have found almost all of them. I was able to make disc images from all but MacFormat 23 which seems to be compromised in some way.

I also re-made the first few uploads so they should be unaltered, they haven't even been mounted before the stuffing.
All of them have been ripped using either Disk Utility 11.5.2 in Mac OS X 10.6.8 or using Disk Utility 10.5.6 in Mac OS X 10.4.11. All of them have been stuffed using DropStuff 5.5 in the Classic Enviroment.

We'll begin with all the Mac Magazine CD-ROM:s I had, I think Mac Magazine issue 5/1998 was the last ever so then it's all of them from 1998. There perhaps were like five or six issues in 1997, but none of which I ever bought.

EDIT2: I have now tried to make a good rip out of MacFormat CD-ROM 23 although there is something wrong with the disc. I simply copied all of the contents to a folder and then burned it on a HFS CD-R using Toast 6, then made a .cdr out of it using Disk Utility. This is obviously not a 'true' disc image, however it may be more interesting than nothing... Smile

There seems to some sort of bubble in the print layer on top of the disc at one point but I truly believe that should affect more than a few MB:s on the disc. The only files I didn't manage to copy are in the folder Reader's Corner: Reader's Contributions: Kevin Thorne

I think there are 2 668 093 bytes missing or something like that. I hope anyone downloading this disc can live with that... Smile

I also re-riped bittin's upload of MacPressen CD-ROM from 2000. I made it a .cdr stuffed it i DropStuff which meant it became 30 MB smaller and uploaded it to Megaupload:

Thanks for the "MacFormat 105/ July 2001" CD. I used to be an avid reader & CD collector of MF up until about 2000, so I had not seen this one. It appears to have a full version of ACI 4th Dimension v4.5 on it? I'm not sure as I haven't had time to investigate further. I spotted a couple of screen grab shareware tools that I hadn't come across before too, as well as some early OS X shareware. Thanks again.

You're welcome. I have no idea what is on the disc, I don't think I have ever inserted that disc before I ripped it and put it here. I'm very happy if someone can make use of it! Smile

Oh man megaupload has been killed by the FBI, could I pleeease acquire your MacFormat 23 somehow please? It's the first thing I played around with as a kid on my Macintosh Performa 5200 and I stupidly threw it away. I've been looking everywhere for it, I even sent Future Publishing an email without a response. I found the cover online and saved it so I could show people what MacFormat I was talking about.

I'm really busy at the moment, but yes, if I have time I will upload it elsewhere this weekend.
