Running Might and Magic 2

Hi everyone!

I've downloaded Might and Magic 2 from this site and have been trying to get it to work in Basilisk II on Windows 7. I'm using the 2008 Version of Basilisk to avoid the black screen. When trying to start M&M 2, I get this error message:

"Sufficient memory is not available. The error reference is 11E:00:003:108. Either make more memory available, or contact New World Computing, Inc. if there are other difficulties."

Basilisk is set to 64MB which should be enough I would think? It is running System 7.5.5 on a Quadra 650 ROM.

I'd be happy if anyone could help me.

Setting Bas to 64 MB RAM is the one part. The next part is to increase the memory amount for the game itself (like done for every Mac application). In Mac Finder, mark the game executable file, then browse the File menu -> "Get info" (or similar in english Mac systems). Increasing the game's memory amount is the only idea I can imagine.

You've switched the Mac display to 256 colours before running the game, as written on its page? If not, not doing so could also result in such err msgs.

Hey thanks! Increasing the memory amount worked. It was set to 1500K, the game's suggested setting. Apparently that wasn't enough.
