QuickTime on Mini vMac?

Does anyone know if the original version of QuickTime ran on the Macintosh Plus? I tried 2.5 but it crashed Mini vMac (not surprised at all) and I haven't been able to find any earlier versions.

Also, does anyone know the native file format for audio that system 7 used? (Like with the sample sound in the scrapbook)

I tried that on both System 6.0.8 and 7.5.5 but they each said it couldn't be used on that machine.

Then it probably requires a Mac II or later.

pretty sure QT requires the 68020 (or 30) - he vmac MacPlus is 68000 - personally did not have any luck using the "020 simulator" and the vMac/Mac ii doesn't support sound yet (at least not last I checked) - you can also emulate 68020 with command in vMac (see "Emulated CPU" under "options" on vMac homepage ... -em-cpu 2 { 68020 } ..... )

if you have any luck running QT with sound on vmac or basilisk let me know ... kind of gave up a while back tho it seems like it should be possible....

On the CD-ROM "From Alice To Ocean" I've found QuickTime version 1.0, get it here:

Even QuickTime 1.0 isn't compatible to Mini vMac, because it's missing 32-bit QuickDraw.
