Wot ? No games ?
A herculean effort, that deserves praise.
Have you updated all the pages that contain these pieces of software to include your links ? Not suggesting that you do, but asking that if we come across a page that doesn't have the link, can we add it ?
ps. thanks for choosing MF (or MU) over that awful RapidShare.
Thanks a lot, i would love to see more of the Hardware CDs!
A game free abandonware site. I like that. Thanks a lot, sheepmyshaver123.
Very cool site. I especially appreciate the AppleCare CDs, but I've hit a bit of a snag. I DL'd the 'Companion Tech Info Library', and can't seem to un-RAR it. I've tried Stuffit Expander, ZiPeg, MacUnRAR and a few others on both OS X, and OS 9. Has anybody got it to work?
Thank you so much!
I would love to see Japanese OS versions, if you have them.
System6: Sorry, you need to use Windows to do that. Even the volume is corrupt, the recovery record is embedded on the archive.
Thanks, sheepmyshaver123. Now to find a Windows machine...
@sheepmyshaver123:
You should un-RAR it then use something to re-compress it, that way it would be fixed.
And try MY MEGAUPLOAD ARCHIVE:
Adobe Illustartor 10: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BCUWJE9X
Virtual PC 6: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=O98C0UOS
Logic Audio Platinum 5.4.0 with Dongle: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IFHU5RZ0
If you see the CD-ROM request section, please post your suggestions.
I like the TataMisia archive.
OK. I've found the two ISOs from the source, SoftWindows 2.0 and AppleShare IP 6.3.3. These of them are now currently uploading to my archive. List updated. You need the valid serial to get working of these software.
OK, more files are uploaded and re-uploaded today.
Uploaded the Performa 5400 Restore CD, you can enjoy yourself here.
This CD includes the British System 7.5.3 with ClarisWorks 4.0, MacLink Plus, 120 Letters, Acrobat Reader, At Ease, and more.
And also, I've uploaded the user's manual CD of Power Macintosh 7300, 8600, and 9600 series, but it's localized german version.
I have Quicken 98 Deluxe, as a disk image - unsure if it is the entire CD image tho - let me know if you are interested... I have email contacts turned on here...
Good, you can upload cd image (.iso, .toast, .cdr) to the megaupload and I will mirror them.
@themacmeister email contact doesn't work on this site, so you'll have to post your email address if you want to contact someone privately in the future.
Hey sheepmyshaver123, awesome abandonware collection you have, now i will be able to download my favorite apps if mac garden goes down
.
The file: Apple Internet Connection Kit 1.2.rar
was completely removed without reason. I need to re-upload this, but I working some of the files to repack or downloaded from the macgeek417's rapidshare archive.
@nmz502 - It looks like NOTHING works on this site
I will post Quicken 98 Deluxe tonight...
@themacmeister
Sounds like the great idea. Where is it? Can you show the CD scan?
Searching around the MCP's mediafire archive and I found 3 rare items, is the Developer CD 04-93 SSW edition, VPC 2.1 with Windows 95, and VPC 2.1 with Windows 98.
Can anyone actually open .rar files with MacRar for classic Mac OS? To my experience, any file that was not compressed by MacRar for classic, MacRar for classic refuses to open. Instead it says "File header broken". Also Stuffit 7 (whose .rar filter seems to be based on MacRar) refuses to open .rar files not compressed by MacRar for Mac OS classic.
@xy
You need to open the archive in Windows. You have to find the real PC machine or emulate it with the Connectix Virtual PC to extract the RAR files using WinRAR v3.71.
I have the VPC v3 and v6 on your list. I'm also sure I have PageMill v2.
Looks like TataMisia has given you VPC v6. VPC v3 came with Win 98. I'll put them up on MU over the next couple of days. I've also got a PHT Games CD-ROM from October 1994, don't know if this is the same as yours.
Waiting for that "MacBible Game Guide CD". Just whenever, I know how daunting it is to have so much stuff to get through.
bertyboy, some of that stuff he's just copying from my archives:
http://sites.google.com/site/oldmacarchive/
http://www.mediafire.com/oldmacarchive/
Check out the "CD-Roms" folder in particular.
bertyboy, upload the Virtual PC 3.0 full version with Windows 98 because I have only the upgrade version, and then I will mirror it completely.
MCP, I mirror (re-upload) some files and CD images from your archive so it will make them public.
Yeah, I noticed.
My two BMUG PD-ROMs are also there, and others. But sometimes it helps this site too if someone is willing to host and administer files for us.
I see you're collecting MacWorld cover CD's I have just over 50, from 1994 to 2000, and more cover floppy disk images before that. Also 38 MacUser cover CDs, 5 from 1994-1995, all the rest are 2000 onwards. I cab upload these to MU (Toast images) over the next month ot two, one per night. Or are you after the actual physical media ?
Cursing myself, had the chance to win nearly all the MacAddict CDs on eBay, but the price got just too high. Now I look back, they were probably worth the extra.
I encourage people to copy them, I just wanted to be sure bertyboy knew that they are already available.
ADD: Anyone who gets a Mediafire account can copy from someone else's Mediafire account with a simple click. It's one of the reasons I'm using Mediafire. The only limitation is that free accounts can only have file sizes of less than 200MB.
Bertyboy, I'm so excited about the Virtual PC 3.0 non-upgrade. Upload this (full untouched ISO, the modified timestamps must be ORIGINAL) to the megaupload and then I will mirror them.
Mmm, MegaUpload is about as fast as my Mac SE today. Hopefully things will pick up overnight.
Virtual PC v3 has landed - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SDQ82W6O.
MegaUpload overnight was even slower, but it was back to top form this morning.
VPC v3 - can you do the decent thing and create a page for it with the link. Or modify the Upgrade page to have both links.
@bertyboy
Thanks. This will be added to the queue. Also, I added several applications to mediafire because I don't have the more disk space anymore.
Someone who has the remaining Performa restore discs? Please upload these CD image and I will be added to my archive.
I should have a Performa 631CD restore disc (my first Mac!), you don't have it explicitly labeled but it's part of the 630 series. Might have a 6320 CD too (in English).
Can you upload these to the megaupload, including the CD scan photos and the CD images must be untouched, as mentioned here?
For Mac OS only images, do you recommend making a .img or .toast? I had used Toast 5.2.3 in Mac OS 9 to get an image of a Mac/PC dual partition game and it worked out well, but I'd rather do whatever is the best format for Mac-only, especially for personal rips.
Both of Mac OS disk images format are supported by me.
For mine, every CD image must be possible for my Macintosh CDs archiving (.iso, .toast, .img, .nrg, .cdr, .dmg, and more).
Bob Kiwi, can you upload your Performa CD images to the megaupload?
Right, so I located all my CDs that may match what else you'd like. Here's what I've got (All English):
Power Macintosh G3 All-in-one System Software Version 8.1 CD Version 1.0
Macintosh Performa 631CD System Software Version 7.5.1 CD Version 1.0
Power Macintosh 6100, 7100, 8100 Series System Software Version 7.5 CD Version 3.0
Power Macintosh G3 System Software Version 8.0 CD Version 2-1.0
Power Macintosh G3 B&W System Software Version 8.5.1 CD Version 1.0
iMovie 1.0 (and iMovie 2.0 version 2.0.1, but that's on the site)
I have some Hardware test and system/application restore cds but they are 2000+
I'll rip the CDs to .toast today
Yahoo, Bob Kiwi. This is all I needed. Can you show all of the CD scans and the part numbers of your PowerMac G3 AIO CD, Perfroma 613CD CD, PowerMac 6100 CD v3.0, PowerMac G3 CD, PowerMac G3 B&W CD, and iMovie 1.0 CD.
Tons of files has been uploaded today. There are PowerMac 7300/8600/9600 CD, PowerMac 4400 CD, Microsoft Office 2.5.1 repacked, RealPC 1.0 CD, iMovie 2 v2.0.3 CD from Macgeek417, and Performa 6320CD restore CD Spanish.
Okay, I'll scan the CD faces. Here are the part numbers from the CDs
631CD: 691-0713-B
6/7/8100: 691-0539-A
G3: 691-1826-A
G3 AIO: 691-1802-A
G3 B&W: 691-2078-A
iMovie: 691-2349-A
Nice CD part numbers. I want to download these, so you can upload it now.
And, can you list all of the CDs that you have it?
I've ripped my CDs, also making a list of all other software I have for maybe a new post later. I only have about 20GB left of my 250GB Comcast cap, so I may have to delay uploading. I'd upload them at work but MediaFire and other sites are blocked.
Actually, I have 200GB of data transfer on MobileMe I could upload to as a holdover as well. I'll see if I can get them up there tomorrow. I had no idea you got so much data transfer from Apple.
OK. But where is the link?
Update: I have waited 1 day later but you have no longer respond.
Sorry, I can't upload them at work due to filters blocking MF and MobileMe, and I'm at the cap for Comcast. I'll get them up when August starts.
Bob Kiwi, can you list all of your CDs inside this topic?
