MPW 3.0 for System 7

Hi, I'm looking for MPW 3.0 for System 7 (I have found a System 6 version but I couldn't make System 6 work with any of the ROMs I have).
The reason is I want to return to life a program I wrote in MacApp2 on MPW 3.0.

Thanks in advance!

The MPW from http://developer.apple.com/tools/mpw-tools/ is compatible with 7.5+ (PPC). Or are you emulating 68k? hmm... If you do your development under a PPC emulator (with OS 8/9 etc.) MPW 3 still compiles for native 68k. Just a thought.

Maybe you can use this MPW 3.3 I have found in my archive. According to its Release Notes, it requires System 7.0 or later, and a 68020 or later.
It is stuffed in StuffIt-5 format, so you will need an Expander Version 5.

Hi UFK,
I download your MPW 3.3 copy, but it seems not work in m68k. I uncompress it, and click the MPW shell.
it shows error. Do I need to click some installer to install it?

Thank you

I found a 3.0 and 3.1 version. If it works for System 6 I don't know, though.

Thanks xy, apparently the MPW 3.0/3.1 CD image was saved as a cdr. So it has been modified. It also wouldn't mount in Mini vMac. So I converted it to a toast image using SheepShaver. It now mounts and runs in Mini vMac. (Using System 6.0.8 ) Laughing out loud

Download MPW CD-ROM.toast image here.

I forgot to mention;

When Apple finally released System 7, it caused a huge outcry among developers, as many existing applications were incompatible with it. Ironically, Apple's own development system, MPW 3.1, was one of the applications that was incompatible with System 7. It took quite a while for MPW 3.2 to be readied and released, which allowed native System 7 development until then, you had to develop under System 6 and then reboot or transfer the software to a machine running system 7 to be able to test your software.

So if you want MPW for System 7, you need 3.2 at the minimum.

I am trying to find the earlier version of Macintosh Program Workshop 1.x and 2.x,
but in vain.

I found a link that has all the MPW old disk images, but could not download
due to iDisk access right.

PW 1.0.0 - 24 Sep 1986.sit 1.3 MB
MPW 1.0.0 DISK IMAGES DTC.sit 4.8 MB
MPW 1.0.0 DISK IMAGES.sit 8.6 MB
MPW 1.0.0 FILE HEXRES DUMPS.sit 7.9 MB
MPW 1.0.1 - 10 Oct 1986.sit 1.3 MB
MPW 1.0.1 DISK IMAGES DTC.sit 4.8 MB
MPW 1.0.1 DISK IMAGES.sit 1 KB

The link was located in:

http://homepage.mac.com/WebObjects/FileSharing.woa/wo/XokTFQT4cc9qP8uE.1...

Does any one get any idea about the images? I need them so badly.
If they can't be found, the mpw 1.x 2.x will be gone in the future if they are not kept in good hosting place.

Thanks!!
