Max1zzz's classic mac server

I have a small collection of classic mac software Hosted on HTTP, FTP and Wired protocols I would like to share.

Download speeds will greatly vary depending on how much spare bandwidth we have but will normally be capped somewhere between 5Kb/s --> 30Kb/s for guests, it is possible to get higher, all you have to do is upload (upload to: "Uploads" Please create a folder with your name in the correct uploads folder and upload to that).

Guest download is currently capped to: 10Kb/s

Site
- www.max1zzz.co.uk

Servers:

Web:
Address: www.max1zzz.co.uk:8000
Port: 8000 (hence the :8000 on the end of the address)
User: mg
Pass: mg

KDX:
Adddress: www.max1zzz.co.uk:10700
Port: 10700 (hence 10700 on the end of the address, usually you don't need to specify this)
User: (None needed)
Pass: (None needed)

FTP:
Address: www.max1zzz.co.uk
Port: 21 (normally you do not need to specify this)
User: mg
pass: mg
(if you bookmarked the old mr account / one of the two dyndns addresses that is fine and will still work)

Wired:
Address: www.max1zzz.co.uk:1500
Port: 1500 (hence the :1500 on the end of the address)
User: (None needed)
Pass: (None needed)

Accounts: once you have uploaded something you are entitled to a account, with your account you will receive much better speeds, When your upload has finished drop a text file (.txt of .rtf no word documents please as I don't have word) in the folder named "accounts dropbox", stating what you uploaded and what user / pass you want.

If you had a account and it is no longer working as of the 3rd of August 2011 it is because i changed ftp software and could not import the old users just re upload the text file with your account info and i will reinstate your account

Requests:
-Any restore cd's I don't have or that are in languages I don't have
-Any Versions of Mac OS in languages I don't have

CD Ripping guide (Please read this if you are planning to rip cd's to upload here):

Program downloads:
FTP: For OSX 10.5+/win/linux: http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client
For OSX 10.4: http://onebutton.org/ (some folders [maybe about 4 or 5] will appear as blank files with One Button FTP, if you have a prob give me a shout and ill sort something out)
For OS 7 or later: http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download/ (download fetch 4.0.3, it is free for 15 days then you have to by it [just buy 5.6 and the key works with 4.0.3])

Wired: Mac Client (OSX 10.4 onwards): http://www.mediafire.com/?dvjaar4cd9ud17i
Windows Client: http://www.mediafire.com/?8s2c5g8kzpalgwb

(I created a new thread as the old one got messy and hard to understand, also the server will NOT be taken down anymore, just throttled when we need the bandwidth)

For most languages of Mac OS, I suggest to download Mac OS Anthology (7.0-9.0) or even Developer CDs from Pandora.

Can i ask if it is possible for whoever uploaded Supermac_Additional_Software_CD_V1.1_199612.cdr.gz to provide cd scans or pics? don't worry if it is too much but it would be good to have scans of it

thanks

recover what exactly? i will add the dev cd's in time, if there's any particular ones you want ill download them first

@sheepmyshaver123, your download speed should not (and is not) capped to 5kb/s, maybe you have just got a slow connection? or i was playing on xbox Live? or you where using the guest account? anyhow try again and if it is still slow try the wired server, if that still doesn't work im sure we can work something out

It has fixed already (the problem is the connection speed).

The file: Service_Source-1993.iso.gz, has the CD image is not original/modified (with OS X containments).

And this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Apple-MacTest-Pro-AppleCare-Service-Source-Discs-/23...

Why I cannot connect to wired? It says the connection was refused by the remote host.

And, the FTP one is working, I can download anytime, since my current download is April 1995 Developer CD.

likely the problem was that you tried to connect when the wired server was down, wired never received the requests, tho it may be because my network is suffering from multiple hardware failures, and what is working is crappy home grade stuff that can't handle the traffic, new gigabit hardware is on the way and should be fully installed by late this week or early next week

Downloading Dev.CD Oct 96 SSW (2.1KB/s) will take only 6-7 days to complete. Did I have suffer:

- the guest speed because I've consumed more quota
- your server has networking problems
- my broadband has worst speed
