Macintosh Color Classic

Hi guys,

Very disappointed, I bought original OS Diskettes system 7.1 and 7.5, the 7.1 is the original Color Classic and not working, the 3.5 drive does not recognize it, 7.5 as well, the weird thing is, my Macintosh Classic works flawlessly with both systems.

What am I doing wrong? The drive is working well, it format and copy any file to the diskette.

Regards,
Gustavo

Quick check; is a floppy formatted in one Mac readable in the other?

Is the floppy drive a SuperDrive (1.44 MB capacity)? MacTracker says yes.
So both types of floppies should work (HD + DD).

Try the formatting both ways, ie format the floppy in the Color and then try if the Classic can read it. If not the floppy drive might had it. You can try clean it and, if you feel up to it; I think there´s some How-Tos for dismantling floppy drive, check them and assemble them.
