Mac OS 9.2.2 for iMac G4

Anyone has bootable image of Mac OS 9.2.2(English) Install(retail or from restore disks), which runs on 15" iMac G4 700MHz and 800MHz? I tried to boot 9.2.1, but it doesn't work.

Not all 15" iMac G4s can boot Mac OS 9. Yours might be the kind that can't.

My iMac is 700MHz, all of them run OS9.

If it's the model I had - the very first iMac G4 - I uploaded the 6 original disc images previously. Mac OS9.2.2 is on one of them.

You'll have to read through the thread:

http://macintoshgarden.org/forum/imac-g4-disks

and pick up where I've posted links to the disc images. It may be of some benefit to download all 6 and keep as an original set.
Start from Disk 6 and work backwards through the posts, I remember there may have been issues with some of the uploads, so the later links should all be good. Checked MegaUpload, all the disc images are still there.

Yes, I have that restore CD's, I even used them and restored iMac(many thanks!). But i wanted to install only OS 9, without OSX.

Do you have separate Mac OS 9 Install CD?

Have you tried an eMac one? Should do the trick.

Getting Mac OS 9 Install for the eMac is as difficult as getting CD for iMac. Internet is full of booting CD's, which isn't Install(exact booting CD is there, in MacintoshGarden).

Check out the second post for a link to a eMac Install CD.

The correct iMac OS9.2.2 should be on one of the discs then.

Restore and then trash everything you dn't need. From around the time of that iMac this was the only way to correctly install OS9.2.2, ie. from within OSX. The MDD was the same.

Just wanted to add, there's also a Mac OS 9 System Folder on the site here which is what I initially used to get my iMac G4 15" up and running.
