No, megabyte, you are not doing anything wrong, the admins of the site have stopped the downloading of
some files because they are to expensive (big) to host for now, we should hopefully be able to download these files again soon, so stay tuned
p.s. What file was this? i may have downloaded it and i can host it on my own site for a little while
This is a big list of files - about 15 games and a lot of software
So, I think it will be hard to you to hot all of these files.
well pick one or two to start with.
Members downloading 15+ of the biggest games and apps in one day is the reason there's bandwidth issues.
Is there anything in particular you're looking for ?
Question to Maedi & Balrog: How much money would it need to get all the links back on + reserves for the following weeks, until the stuff finally gets moved to a new location? I'm ready to chip in another 15 dollars and if everyone else does, I'm sure we could get this one temporarily going again? You could also disable registration meanwhile, avoiding a traffic explosion. Just give us some figures to see if it's realistic? Can't stand the torrent thing any longer and I'm sure everyone else feels the same, huh?
You could easily get free hosting on http://byethost.com
It has gotten the best rating amongst the free hosting
Then just use sites such as mediafire.com, rapidshare.com, megaupload.com to provide links...?
Last month it costs about 70USD for S3 bandwidth (the games themselves) and 40USD for the server. With the 100mb limit I'm estimating it will cost me 40USD this month.
I think right now 'we' should save as much money as we can, it's a false economy burn our money. We've got to get on to an economical host.
I'd like to go with leaseweb, but you have to pay 12 months upfront, so I'd need some capital.
(free hosting is not an option by the way)
For example, I need Virtual PC. I want to run NextSTEP version for Intel processors on it. Can somebody share it?
i know were you can get Virtual PC, go to machut.valleyofthelights.com and click on emulators,
as for NeXTSTEP for intel, somebody can upload it to a free file sharing webspace, like filehosting.org, or you can use the torrent.
I already have a NeXTSTEP, so thanks for the emulator link
oops, sorry, i didn't see that in the post, glad it worked for you:D
MacHut has a VirtualPC 4.0, it doesn't work with NextSTEP. Needing VPC 5 from this site...
hmmmmm :\ have you tried to leave your VPC harddrive unpartioned, or does the NeXTSTEP cd not boot?
maybe some one with vpc 5.0+ could upload it to the filesharing link i posted above
I tried this method - http://www.nleymann.de/Nextstep/VirtualPC.htm , and it cannot boot from cd after all floppy stages. This guy used VirtualPC 4.2, but I have 4.0 version, so I want to try newer versions.
can you use torrents, because here is a torrent that i found, its 10 MB, http://torrents.thepiratebay.org/4002898/Connectix_Virtual_PC_5_for_OS2_...
here is the link on Mac Garden,
http://s3.amazonaws.com/macgarden/VirtualPC5.0.4.img_.sit?torrent
Also. If you want the older version of Virtual PC + Windows 95, get here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Connectix-Virtual-PC-v1-0-1-Includes-Windows-95-CIB_...
Not much expensive.
