Games that aren't on Macintosh Garden but you loved.

Yeah, so I am 16 years old right now, and I remember quite clearly when I was around 5 and 6 how I would use our old Mac Clone to play Mac Demos from the MacAddict's The Disc all the time...

I still have the clone, but I also have a much improved iMac G3 that I am now using to play these older games.

What games aren't on Macintosh Garden that you loved and maybe they can add?

For me, the one I remember the most is CaveFox... It was a puzzle adventure game similar to Mario kind of where each level you had to solve a puzzle. Terrible description, but maybe someone could help me out.

Man I love this website! I am thinking about buying two 128 MB sticks for my iMac over the current 64 MBs. Smile

Inherit The Earth in its Mac classic version.
But I remember HOTU removed the DOS version download of this game immediately after Wyrmkeep re-animated it, re-created for W XP and Mac OS X.

Gridz by Green Dragon/Mutant Egg isn't up (because it was still commercially available), and i loved the demo.

Recently, all the sites for the companies games, as well as the online store have come offline, so they are perhaps fresh candidates for uploading, Battle-Girl (also by them) is already here but to seea full version of Gridz would be epic

When I uploaded Battle-Girl I found a demo for Gridz but I either couldn't get it to work or couldn't find a full version, can't remember which.

I can hook up a copy of Gridz demo if anyone wants. Pretty sure it's on one of my MacAddict CDs.

Same here, I have a few covers CDs from 1997 with the Gridz 1.0 Demo Installer. It's about 3.5MB.

The demo is very limited altho i think version 1.0 can be expanded with a serial key. If you do have the full image, uploading it would be an act of brilliance Smile

Innes - I will post the Gridz image tonight (with serial). I will not post the serial online, but in the archive - safer that way.

PS. It may be version 1.1 - I will check tonight

What's about Tron 2.0? There was a Macintosh version, but I think it wasn't very popular. Though MacPlay seems to be dead (their website isn't available anymore and links to a casual-games-website)

I came across my Tron CDs a few days ago. Something in my memory says that it needed OSX 10.4, even though checking the web says 10.2.8. I think it must have been a QuickTime requirement that I wasn't prepared to use on 10.3.

Sure it's been asked about before, and I'm sure it was just too recent. It's a shame, cos it's a great game. If an admin says "Yes, it would be a great addition" I'll upload the CDs in the next batch, even though I have doubts on:
i) it's age, 2003 or 2004 or maybe 2005 from memory.
ii) it's ability to run on current systems. There was a patch to allow the installer to run on 10.4 / 10.5.

I wouldn't say it was abandon-ware with PC and console versions still selling, as far as the publishers are concerned, downloading it and playing it on one system decreases the possibility of someone buying it for another, thus with them losing revenue.

I actually have a copy of Rex Nebular and I'm going to upload it soon. I just need to test it further and archive it properly. It seems to be one of those games that have problems with 32-bit adressing because it just locks up on my Quadra 800 with System 7.6.1. However, on Basilisk II with System 7.5.5 and 32-bit adressing disabled, i got through the copy protection screen at least. After that the interface loads and sound is played but the game window remains blank. It's very unstable, too.
I'm going to install 7.5.5 on my real mac and give it another try later.
