Must be from 1991/92.
Apart from slight fading of the cover, it is in remarkable condition... Fun to read through, and relive the golden age of computing (well, puce age).

Yes, this one is Macintosh LC 630 DOS, which from 1994. This guide includes information about the computer and most of all is System 7.5.

'94 I believe. This was the first Mac I bought (not my 1st Mac 'tho). Here in OZ it was badged "Quadra 630/DOS Compatible" because they sported a full '040 CPU and not the FPU-less "LC '040" CPU's. I still have the original software that came with this (on floppy).
1993 actually!
Hey Mike -- this was my first Mac too (in OZ too, but I'm pretty sure it was still LC630, with an LC030). It was this beast -> http://lowendmac.com/quadra/lc-630-dos-compatible.shtml. I certainly would have remembered it better, had it been an '040!
I remember not being able to get the most from Mac games due to no dedicated FPU. Also, this is the first machine I was able to use PC RAM in, upping all three dedicated SIMM slots to respectable values (at about 1/4 the price Apple wanted to charge for the same amount of RAM).
Unfortunately, this manual does not go into much detail regarding hardware, but it could hold a communication card (skinny and long), and the DOS card was a PDS card as well (learn something new everyday!).
Unfortunately, this is what started me down 10 years with PC only (although I used Macs at work all the time doing prepress).
Sorry, LC040 -- my bad! Come to think of it, I had a terrible dislike for all machines I had seen up til then, running the LC040, so it may well have been the Quadra. This documentation is mine, and it definitely says LC630 on the cover tho... I knew of no-one who had a similar machine. It may have been a Mobo upgrade (known to happen) -- maybe a returned/faulty education machine, rejigged for resale... Like my 1.5TB Barracuda drive from Seagate. "Certified Repaired HDD" WTF??!!!! I know we got a printer with it (Colour Stylewriter?) and did not pay full ticket price. It was a pretty sweet deal actually.
Apple's idea -- put a PC inside this Mac, running at TWICE THE SPEED of the MAC!!!
Great thinking Apple!
My bad too, it was badged here as LC but carried a 68040 CPU same as found in Quadra models, these were OZ only at the time. That link you gave is for the US version, pretty much the same thing, except this had full FPU '040 chip, not the FPU-less LC (low cost) 68040.
The DX CPU I think was on a board that fitted onto the Mac CPU's place on the mobo, the Mac CPU moved onto the DX board along side the DOS CPU. It wasn't a PDS slot type card, that was in the Quadra 610/DOS Mac I think.
Something like that... like my brain, it gets fuzzy with time
Mike, it was so long ago, I can't even remember. I remember playing all the Ambrosia games at full speed, with no issues, and I don't remember installing SoftFPU, so it must have been the full 68040!
I'm fairly sure it had the entire Orange Micro board with the entire PC (with external sound card daughterboard).
Man, that was a long time ago!
