Seriously, if I had money (and space), I'd buy this! It's only about the price of four Macintosh IIfx computers at release...

This site and its contents would really make a good complement to the Macintosh Garden site, it would be nice if some of our U.S. based people could make an offer on this. I don’t know what he is offering is realistically worth (his buy now price is comparable to a new car in NZ$), but there are certainly benefits of having all models of Mac (including rare ones like the 20th A. Mac) in one place for projects like software development.

Damn, it's ended. I would have bid on this and shipped it to Auckland. Then sell off the duplicates and those I didn't really want (keep only the IIci, IIfx, Qudra 950, Quadra 840av, PM8500, PM9600, PM6500, TAM, PMG3 (B&W).

Bet it's gone to that billionaires son in Italy, the one who collects Macs and paid $4m for the "original" Apple II.

They didn't use the Buy Now feature (set at U.S.$35, 000, which I referenced), from what I can tell it ran out its time (I was refreshing every few minutes to check). There was one bid on it, but if you are interested berty, it might be worthwhile contacting the seller (I don't know if it is the same person who ran the website or not). That sort of collection doesn't come round very often.

It did seem like a more than fair price, I had to value (for marine insurance) my Mac collection when I emmigrated here - only fully loaded Mac Pro, PMG5, PMG4 MDD, PMG4 DA, Cube, 17" PBG4 and an SE, plus a few Apple Displays and external disks. Came to about $20,000. shipping cost was about 10% value, marine insurance another 3%.

Edit:
Relisted. Holy s**t, I'll need to check my savings ....

Mmm, I don't have that much money to burn. Lets just say I'll be buying a lotto ticket on Wednesday. If it's meant to be ...
If I was still contracting back in the UK I wouldn't have had to think about it for 2 minutes, If you add up the current items in the collection, plus the sought-after rares (Cube, TAM, etc) that's half the purchase price. There's iPads, MacBook Air, Apple TVs, iPhone 4, 2 IIfx.

If shipping didn't kill us, we could get together between us and buy it, and draw lots to see who gets what - by predicting something unpreidctable, ie. pick 10 numbers that may come up in the UK lotto on a day 3 months from now - you get the idea.

Is there a lot of demand for old Mac hardware? I have a lot of extra Powerbooks, Performas, Color Classics, printers, and other older hardware. Is there a forum area for swapping and requesting? I've recently sent a pile of discs to MCP.

Great! I'd be very interested in either an image or the disc itself (if you were willing to part with it).

Sorry for the delay. Motorcycle oil change more important. You want a copy of the disc, or the disc? I'm mostly running 10.6. Redoing an OS 9 machine is a winter project. Sheepy, I have a Install Me First OS 7.1, 6100 7.1.2, OS 7.5.3 OS 7.6, 8.0, I think 8.1, 8.5 Lombard 8.6, iBook/iMac media sets of 9.1/9.22, 10.1/10.2. I'm going from memory, I forgot which disc case I put them in. RIP Steve Jobs.

No rush here. An image would be great, but I'd like to start getting more original discs so I'd also be interested in getting the actual disc. Is there a part number on it? I have a couple of Supermac isos here.

Hi MacWrench,
My search is almost complete but I'm still looking to max out what I have. I'm still looking for Radius Thunder IV GXs (or even a Thunder 24/GT), 8MB or 16MB 64-pin RAM SIMMs for my IIfx, an audiomedia II nubus card and other rare, expensive things.

Hi macwrench
Thanks for your list. Do send me a list (privately, if you prefer) of stuff that you're looking for. I have acquired quite a stash since I started trawling on eBay some 18 months ago. It's almost all stuff from Mac IIs upto PM8100s and parts therefore.

I've been grabbing from ebay since 1998. 3 Color Classics, 2400 printers, 3.5 SCSI HDs, and 68k Powerbooks were going up for sale. I was wondering if there was much interest here.

I cry when I do searches on eBay, too. Since Steve Jobs' death I've seen foolishness like this:

99 cents no more.
