Aldus Persuasion

I have a bunch of presentations created using PowerPointPersuasion 3 for the Mac, about 1995 or so. Does anyone have a copy of this app by any chance? Thanks!

EDIT: I meant Persuasion, of course, sorry!

Your subject title is for Aldus Persuasion but your question is about Powerpoint 3. Do you mean Aldus Persuasion 3 instead? Re: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldus_Persuasion notes that it becomes Adobe Persuasion after this.

If your presentations were created in MS Powerpoint instead, then perhaps you have more choices than just the Aldus route.

1995 should have been the Powerpoint4 time, I thought. As far as I recall PPT3 files could be opened with version 4 as well.
I just looked through my old CDs - a installed version of Powerpoint3 (1992) seems to be there, I´ll have to try whether its still working.

Edit: Runs fine with BII and SS, upped it here: http://www.multiupload.com/YFG3W0CHCV

Sorry, I guess it's a testament to how completely Persuasion has been forgotten that I mistakenly wrote PowerPoint in my message body! It's Aldus Persuasion that I am looking for, thanks...

Still looking for this, if anyone has a copy of Persuasion 3.x or 4.x for the Mac...

All I have is the Tryout of v4.0 for Mac, a 3.1MB file from MacWorld / MacFormat cover discs.

According to Wikipedia, Aldus versions went up to version 2.x - then after Adobe absorbed much of the Aldus base, it released Persuasion at vers 3.0

So if pl212 has Persuasion version 3 docs to open then I guess only the Adobe released 3.x versions will of any use to him.

I haven't been able to locate a full working copy so far, though there are some on eBay for sale at the moment... fairly high prices being asked too, for such old software.

Hi Bertyboy, thanks for your message -- I bet the 4.0 tryout would actually work for these files, and at least allow screenshots. If you have a chance to upload that file, I'd be very appreciative.

Agree with MikeTomTom that the prices for those older versions on eBay are pretty high...

Prices for everything Apple (and they sell) seem to be a little crazy most of the time, I missed another G4 DA this week on eBay / TradeMe, went for $98, it was exactly the same as one I got last month for $11. I'll upload it in a few mins.

Apologies for delay. Here it is: http://www.multiupload.com/VZK9MEULR0

It's the original folder, compressed with Stuffit v5.5.

Two issues, the file was on MacUser Adobe Product Sampler CDs, not MacWorld or MacFormat, so they weren't on an accessible Mac. THEN damned MegaUpload has changed it's interface to use a new version of Flash, which I do not require, and even worse, it breaks in Firefox v3.6.x. It doesn't work in Safari either,

That link for Adobe Persuasion 4.0 you posted is no good, because the domain has been seized and shutdown by the Feds. Maybe you could post it to Mediafire, or some other one that hasn't been overtaken by the fascist overlords?

No, it's not. The link is there, but if you click on it, you see the notice that the domain has been seized and shutdown.

The Fileserve link, found when you scroll down a bit on the MultiUpload page, is still good. Wink

I have Persuasion 3 (floppies in a box w instruction booklets). I have no way to test these floppies to see if they are functional. The box has been sitting in a closet since 1998 along w some other programs of that vintage. Email me an address & it's yours. I also have version 2.0.

@sw1012: It would be excellent to obtain this collection for archiving. How do you feel about sending the disks to Australia if no-one closer to home can help out Quest
